"In a sense I'm glad that I've never learned to paint" (Vincent Van Gogh). I am self taught and began painting while sitting behind a computer all day working in finance. Primarily I am interested in portraiture, the figure and color. I have synesthesia and for me color is all-consuming. I do not aim to capture an exact likeness but rather something deeper through simplification of form and color. I seek truth and beauty and often find inspiration in the work of the German Expressionist painters and dance.
